GetTheLabel, the online designer discount retailer, has appointed Azoya as its ecommerce solutions partner to support the launch of a Chinese website.

Part of the JD Sports group, GetTheLabel was founded in 2009 and sells branded fashion and footwear. Azoya, a turnkey ecommerce company, is providing a fully managed platform for both desktop and mobile devices that will enable GetTheLabel to have a direct market presence in China.

Azoya is also providing GetTheLabel with logistics solutions and other operational services to ensure the retailer suits and meets local customer demands.

“The Chinese version of GetTheLabel’s site offers customers a convenient platform to purchase and place orders for shipment from the UK, and includes our entire range,” said Liz McNamara, Marketing Director at GetTheLabel.

The site has been customised to suit the shopping behaviour and tastes of Chinese customers in order to improve conversion rates and avoid unnecessary returns. It includes an appropriate size guide for footwear, bespoke shopping cart features, a localised checkout process and limited-period offers.

“Chinese consumers are well-known for their love of Western products and recently we’ve seen increasing demand for discounted brands as shoppers become more discerning and look for value as well as quality,” said Don Zhao, co-founder of Azoya. “China’s middle class - over 225 million people - is becoming more interested in health and fitness and developing a taste for activewear as everyday clothing too. As GetTheLabel’s mix of branded sports and fashion wear taps into this trend, it will be well-positioned to establish itself in China.”
